Prof. (Dr.) V.P. Tiwari is working as Professor of Law at MNLU, Nagpur since May 01, 2018. His area of teaching/research interest are Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Law and Social Transformation, Independence of Judiciary, Law of Torts, Medical Negligence, Consumer Protection, Family Law, Election Law, Service Law, Teaching Methods, Labour Law, Police Law, Law relating to Women and Child and Human Rights etc.
Prof. Tiwari has attended more than hundred National and International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops; has published several articles/books and delivered a number of talks as a resource person at various prominent places including National Academy of Direct Taxes (N.A.D.T), Nagpur; VANAMATI, Nagpur; Assam Administrative Staff College; Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi; Directorate of Public Prosecution, Government of West Bengal, Kolkata; Rajasthan Police Academy, Jodhpur, Various HRDCs on varied topics such as Prevention of Corruption Act, Right to Information Act, Natural Justice, Separation of Power, Rule of Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law etc. and has been actively involved in organizing several Seminars/Workshops and Legal Literacy/Legal Aid Camps. During his student life, Prof. Tiwari had been a vivid debater and has stood first in several competitions and academic examinations.
Having Graduated from University of Delhi, Prof. Tiwari went on to complete his LL. M. in Constitutional Law and Human Rights from Nagpur University; awarded Doctorate (Ph. D.) in the area of Medical Negligence and Consumer Protection from National Law University, Jodhpur; NET conducted by UGC, M.A. (in Hindi) from Osmania University, Hyderabad and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from UPRTOU, Allahabad.
Earlier Prof. Tiwari was rendering his services as Associate Professor of Law at this University and has also served at National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam; Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (Affiliated to GGS IP University), Delhi; Integrated School of Law (Affiliated to CCS University), Ghaziabad; National Law University, Jodhpur, Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Prayagraj and Indian Air Force.
As Head of Centre for Child Rights at NLUJA, Assam, Prof. Tiwari collaborated with UNICEF (Assam Field Office) and organized a number of Workshops, Conferences and Capacity Building Programmes for Police Officers, Chairpersons and Members of CWCs, Principal Magistrates and Members of JJBs, DCPOs etc. of Assam, Nagaland and Mizoram on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
